Before installation, unpack the Scala Media Player-Q unit and carefully inspect it for damage.

Device Images

1Power button1Use to manually turn the Scala Media Player-Q on and off.
2SSD indicator1Identifies if the solid-state drive (SSD) is active. Indicator light is white.

Identifies the status of WiFi for the unit:

  • Green - unit is connected to WiFi
  • Red - unit is not connected to WiFi

Required for Set-up

In order to set-up the Scala Media Player-Q device, you will need:

  • Display monitors
  • RJ-45 CAT6 Ethernet cable for wired connections
  • 100V to 240V (50 Hz or 60 Hz) electrical outlet
  • 4 HDMI cables three meters or less that are rated as HDMI 2.0 compliant
  • USB keyboard and mouse

Connecting the Cables

  1. Connect the Scala Media Player-Q unit to the intended displays using HDMI 2.0 cables.
  2. If using a wired network, plug a cable into the RJ-45 jack on the back of the unit
    If using a wireless network, screw in both of the included antennae to the back of the unit.
  3. Plug the power cord into the power connector on the back of the unit.
  4. Plug the power cord into an appropriate 100V to 240V (50 Hz or 60 Hz) electrical outlet

Once the unit is plugged in, the Scala Media Player-Q should auto power on and boot into the customized Windows® operating system. If the unit does not automatically start, press the power button on the front of the device.
