Recommended license for the Player-R (non-Plus Edition): Standard HD (SW-PST-HD01)
Recommended license for the Player-R Plus Edition: Advanced UHD (SW-PAV-4K01)
If you have a Player-R (non-Plus Edition), it pairs best with a single-channel Standard HD (PST) license, which allows standard HD/1080p resolution while providing several more advanced features than a Lite license.
If you have a Player-R Plus Edition, which has twice the amount of memory and is able to play back 4K content at frame rates of up to 60 frames per second, a single-channel Advanced UHD (PAV) license is recommended to allow ultra HD/4K resolution along with more features than a Standard HD license.
You can use a Lite license with either type of Player-R, but it imposes some feature limitations and does not support ultra HD/4K resolutions. For details about the different licenses, refer to the License Functionality Matrix.
